This blog is written by Kendall Hoover. I am the Senior Editor and Writer at Great Marks Proofreading Consultants, where I specialize in non-fiction and blog editing. Backspace to Bookbinding started as an online book club and I focus on book suggestions and tips on writing. If I'm not reading, I enjoy my husband, Greek food, biking, and buying vintage Star Wars t-shirts for my 2 year old.
Backspace to Bookbinding's books suggestions are a different kind of book review. Because I am interested in authors, my reviews typically come from a place of context related to the author. If you're comfortable with, and interested in, having your book reviewed in this way, I would love to hear from you.
I primarily review children's literature (through middle readers), adult non-fiction, literary non-fiction, and historical fiction. I will accept any book for consideration, but won't review a book if I feel I would be biased against it (i.e. books in the romance or horror genres). I accept electronic versions of books for all genres - I prefer them for all genres but children's. If you request a book review, I only post it among the book suggestions if it's positive. If I don't like your book, I won't post a review. For books that I've chosen on my own, I'll post honest reviews, both positive and negative.
